Job Title: Inventory Specialist – Forage
Department: Operations / Supply Chain
Location: Abu Dhabi (15 locations)
Reports To: Inventory Manager


Job Summary:

The Inventory Specialist will lead and manage forage inventory operations across 15 locations in Abu Dhabi. This field-based role focuses on physical stock control, storage protection, quality preservation, and coordination with sales and logistics. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of the forage business in the UAE, and capable of developing inventory processes and training teams. Sales experience and experience in using SAGE ERP systems are an advantage, and the role offers growth potential into a regional operations leadership position.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control & Systems Management

  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with SAGE ERP data.
  • Ensure timely, accurate entry of stock movements (receipts, dispatches, adjustments).
  • Investigate discrepancies, resolve root causes, and report losses or spoilage.

Forage Storage & Quality Preservation

  • Monitor and enforce best practices in forage stacking, ventilation, moisture control, and tarpaulin coverage.
  • Inspect for weather damage, mold, pests, and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Supervise loading/unloading and ensure proper handling during movement.

Process Development & Training

  • Develop and continuously improve inventory-related processes, SOPs, forms, and checklists.
  • Deliver training and onboarding sessions to warehouse staff and site teams on inventory practices, quality handling, and compliance requirements.
  • Create a culture of discipline and accuracy in inventory operations.

Compliance, Reporting & Audits

  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and UAE regulatory bodies (e.g., ADAFSA).
  • Prepare inventory reports, audit documentation, and contribute to regulatory readiness.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, coverage ratios, site handling quality, and waste levels.

Planning & Site Performance Evaluation

  • Support the development and execution of the annual forage stock strategy.
  • Assess site performance across all 15 locations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend actions to reduce wastage, improve accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in the forage/hay/agriculture business in the UAE is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of forage technical aspects: baling, moisture, storage, protection.
  • Experience with SAGE ERP or similar inventory software is a plus.
  • Background in sales, dispatch coordination, or customer interaction is a required.
  • Experience in developing SOPs and conducting training sessions for field teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent.
  • Valid UAE driving license and flexibility to travel daily between remote sites.
  • Field-oriented mindset with strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and reporting.
  • English fluency required; Arabic is an advantage.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily field-based, with regular travel across 15 storage and dispatch sites.
  • Exposure to outdoor, dusty, and hot environments.
  • May require physical inspections, tarp supervision, and team oversight.
  • Flexible hours, including early starts or late finishes during busy periods.
